How to identify air line Couplings & Adaptors
Identifying couplings can be difficult, especially if there is no branding etched or printed on the sleeve – and when it comes to adaptors, different profiles do not interchange. For example, an XF adaptor will not fit into a Vertex coupling. Therefore the most important aspect of identifying couplings and adaptors is to establish their profile.
That’s why PCL places them in series so it’s easy to see which fit together, whilst their “actual size adaptor profile” chart enables adaptors to be matched to the outlines of those shown on the page. View it here.
The coupling can then be identified by establishing the adaptor that fits into it using the method above. PCL couplings and adaptors are manufactured to conform to international standards and are interchangeable with other manufacturers’ couplings and adaptors using the same standards.
